Looking for a solution to the following problem :

On one my sites I have the forum setup so that members of the site, not registered users, can post images to the forum. Now, the folder I've designated as the holding area for the images is getting large, very large. In fact, the folder is so large that when a user navigates to the forums >selects new post > selects the image icon from the editor > browse > selects folder to add image too or select from - it takes forever for that folder to display all the images. In many cases the system just times out all together!

What I would be looking for is the following:

1. Quickly add images to forum post without navigating to a folder etc. etc.
2. Resize all images being added to the forum to a predetermined size (compression settings)
3. Display any image posted to a forum in a "lightbox," so to speak, when clicked on within the forum post.
4. Resize the image to a predetermined display setting too (this client is getting users that like to upload images 3000 x ??? and it breaks the site design).

If anyone has a suggestion to solve the above issues it would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Nothing like that exists today in the module. Perhaps an HTML provider can aid with some of this but nothing works today like this that I am aware of.

Thanks Chris, I appreciate the reply.

I've been working on a solution to the problem, errr, request that my client has made. I think I'm close. If I get this to work would you like for me to post my solution?

Cheers!
