We are trying to copy a professional DNN site from production to a staging server.  Done it a billion times with Community and I think before in Professional.  Both environments reside on the same box but we obviously need the protals to be on separate databases.  The problem is that the staging site now gives me an invalid JSON primitive error.  Essentially, I just copied the databases, the codebase and changed the portalalias to point to the staging url and the web.config to point to the staging DB.  Ajax is installed (as evidenced that production works fine) and the only thing I can think of is that this is a professional version of which might bring up a license issue.

Any help/insight is appreciated.

Pro does have some licensing limitations that you need to be concerned with, however, I am not sure that is the issue here. You may need to re-parse the skin packages for one.

How would I do that as I can't currently log into the staging site?  The only way I know of is as an Administartor or host.

Thanks,
Chris

FYI - Pro will not throw this error, it just will post a warning about unsupported license and disable some site content (you would be able to login).
As for not being able to login, you are going to have to check the paths manually via FTP or direct server access (in the skin files) to change this.

k...cool, that was what I was expecting to get.  As far as the posting goes, everything seems to be relatively bland in the skin.  Hmmmmmmm....I will continue to look.

Thanks
