Active Modules Continues to Offer Flexibility and Ease for Building Your Own Social Network
Active Modules announces the latest version of Active Social, the complete community module for DotNetNuke.

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) July 1, 2010 -- Active Modules, Inc, a software development company that is known for producing several of the top modules for the DotNetNuke Web Application Framework, announces the release of its latest version of Active Social, an extremely flexible and user-friendly social networking solution that builds and promotes strong online communities.

With features including customizable user profiles, groups, private messages, and events, Active Social offers all the tools needed for an online community with one simple installation. Since its last announced released, Active Social now includes a Quick Start Wizard to make installation even simpler; site administrators can now have Active Social installed and configured in less than five minutes and with only four mouse-clicks. In addition, a new template manager makes customizing the design and layout of Active Social even simpler by allowing administrators to easily copy and edit existing templates or create new ones from within the Control Panel. With these enhancements, administrators can quickly and easily install, configure, and tailor Active Social to meet their individual needs with designs that are unique and inviting.

While a recent development enables administrators to automatically add new site members to a predefined group and immediately engage them in the community, the latest release of Active Social also expands the options available for groups. New offerings include a group info tab, the ability to add custom properties, and group statistics. Custom properties allow group administrators to create properties that are unique to one particular group, making it simple to provide existing and potential group members with information that is useful and relevant to only its members. Statistics such as photos uploaded, links shared, and events created offer group administrators and members a way to quickly see how active their group is and compare it with others in the community, thus encouraging increased activity within groups.

Additional enhancements to Active Social include the ability to add attachments to private messages, making it possible to share confidential documents with individual site members rather than uploading the documents to a user's journal. With improvements to member search and RSS Import, the Active Modules team aims to make it easier than ever for users to both find the information they need within a site and to import additional content from the web.

"Active Social was the perfect solution for my website and added value immediately after implementation," said Ricky Jones of Poker Sharkz, LLC. "My members are now able to interact in ways that were impossible before implementing Active Social. The setup was fast and easy with the install wizards and detailed documentation. One of the best features of the software is the ability to easily customize it to fit your individual needs. The product is updated frequently with new features, and the support is outstanding."

Headquartered in Charleston, S.C., Active Modules, Inc. is a software development company offering custom solutions focused around DotNetNuke and the Microsoft .NET Framework. The ease of use and affordable pricing of the Active Modules product line makes the modules ideal solutions for large companies, small groups, start-up businesses, or interest groups of any size.
