Hi Folks,

I am using the menu module called HouseMenu and need this module on most of the pages on my site.

Can I define the HouseMenu within the Skin itself, saving me a lot of time

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Hello,

Yes you can, if you go to the HouseMenu site www.houseofnuke.com you can download the skin object for the menu for free.

All you do is install the skin object as a module into your DNN installation and then in your skin use the token [HOUSEMENU] and within your skin.css file set the styles for the HouseMenu.

Thanks,

Thanks for the fast response.

[HOUSEMENU] does not seem to be working for skins which is an aspx file.

Do I need to do something different ?

You need to ensure you have installed the skin object first before installing your skin.

If you have already installed the skin before installing the HouseMenu skin object, un-install and re-install it as I found that sometimes it doesn't pick up the Housemenu.

You also need to specify the settings for the House Menu, if you are using a .htm file with an .xml file to create the .ascx file, I use in the XML file:

<Object>
    <Token>[HOUSEMENU]</Token>
    <Settings>
      <Setting>
        <Name>Scope</Name>
        <Value>-1</Value>
      </Setting>
      <Setting>
        <Name>ShowAdmin</Name>
        <Value>True</Value>
      </Setting>
      <Setting>
        <Name>IsRecursive</Name>
        <Value>True</Value>
      </Setting>
      <Setting>
        <Name>Orientation</Name>
        <Value>V</Value>
      </Setting>
      <Setting>
        <Name>Mode</Name>
        <Value>S</Value>
      </Setting>
      <Setting>
        <Name>CssElementId</Name>
        <Value>HouseMenuNav</Value>
      </Setting>
    </Settings>
  </Object>

This creates a vertical menu. - You can download example skins from the house of nuke website which provide code examples.
