HELP  !

I need to make a shortcut link to the calculator on our new intranet site.  I haven't found any html coding that has worked for me.  Can anyone help me with this code?  Again, all I want is for the user to click the link and the calculator on the local machine pop up.

I am VERY new at this, so I need someone to walk me through it.  Thank you!!!!

I think you simply need to create a link with a file:/// prefix (i.e. file:///c:/windows/system32/calc.exe). The problem with this is that web sites do not have permission to execute client applications. I remember looking at this a few years ago, but it's just not feasible for a public website. An intranet site might be doable, but you'll have to ensure users have their browser configured correctly, and I can't remember how that has to be done in IE6.

It is actually for an intranet site.  Do you know what I would have to chance on the client computers?

You'll have to look around the web. Check Google. Last I remember, it took me a while to find it. Best of luck!

FYI: If you put the EXE on the server, then users will be able to run it without a problem. They'll simply have to click Run on the dialog that pops up.
