Hi all,
I have noticed that if you create a parent page and subpage, then edit the parent page....
the url to the subpage doesn't point to the new parent page.

example below..

If you have Page 1 with Sub Page B, and then change the name of Page 1 to Page 2:
The Sub Page bread crumb is  > Page 2 > Sub Page B,which is correct, but the url path remains Page 1 > Sub Page B  .
If you now add a new Sub Page C to Page 2 the url path is Page 2 > Sub Page C
So we have two pages, B and C on the same level but with different URL Paths.

We have noticed that if you edit the sub pages individually
ie: edit subpage (But Don't make any changes ) just click update.
Then the URL of the subpages DO change to the newly changed parent..

I suppose my question(s) is.

If you edit a ParentPage , do you have to go into each subpage and click update for the URL to re-allign ?
Or will these urls refresh themselves ?
or Is there a page sync / DB sync in DNN just like filemanager sync that can refresh all lnks at once..?

Thx for any feedback...

Ray..

this might be caused by caching, did you check out after an app restart?

What version of DNN are you currently on? I know that there were some changes in 5.4.4 regarding parent and child pages?

Hiya Guys and thx for the replys..
Sorry I took so long to reply myself.

This is STILL happening, even after an app restart - ie: login as host \ restart application.
We too think this is some sort of caching issue.
We are currently using DNN Ver 05.04.02(66)

We still finD ourselves having to go into page edit \ making no changes \ saving

Just for the links to refresh correctly..

This is important since, if we set links to images on our site eg /products/pic.jpg but this was renamed to /productsnew/pic.jpg

that we have to manually edit\refresh the pages to catch up or change our image links..

Will an upgrade to 5.4.4 help?......How safe is an upgrade?...surely this sort of issue has been noticed before ?

Thx for any more help

Ray..
