I think it may be a new feature, as I don't remember seeing it a couple of versions ago, but what is it? I know I can switch it off or rather hide it for a given module, but I don't think it's true, that is, I think it says that by default even if a module can be seen by anyone.

I'm sure there's a good reason, I just don't know what that is!

Anybody?

I believe the "Visible By Administrators Only" has been a part of DNN for years.   When pages are added, they are by default only viewable by the administrator.   Thus the message appears on pages and/or modules on pages that can only be viewed by the Administrator.   It is often helpful in noticing that one still needs to add roll permissions to a page or module.  Or in reverse, it is handy as an indication that the page cannot be viewed by non administrative users, like when a page is being tested.

Like Gary said, so you can easily see if things are admin only or not. They did take this out in DNN 5 something, which is a shame since it was really nice. Not sure if it got added back in yet or if it will in the future though.

Ah, so that's what it's for, & why I didn't see it originally, as I started with an early v5.x.x, but it's back in 5.4.4. And now I know what it's for & why, I think it's an excellent idea! Thanks.
