Over the past 6 months from time to time I did a 1/2 hearted tries to upgrade salaro.com to 5.x and every time I failed so I stayed with 4.9.5 as it is indeed solid so why break it.

Today I thought we have a re-branding project on salaro.com with new skins etc.. so I should really have another go.

WOW

I cannot believe my 1/2 hearted attempt again. No preparation, Just a copy of the existing files and db,

Over-write the files and change connection string

DONE

No erros

Now comes the hard job of fixing all the third party modules and applying the new branding to the site.

I will keep you posted

But well done everyone for an amazing 5.4.4 so far.

New sites looks great btw. Another newbie question: I presume from your post it possible to have both the old 4.9.5 running and 5 at the same time?

afendrich, yes you can run DNN 4 and 5 side by side on the same server in different IIS web sites.
