I have to develop a DNN based application that has a Main datagrid screen and I want several menu items to point to the same page containing the datagrid module and pass different querystring paramters to it. I dont want to have as many pages with redundant datagrid module as there are menu items.

Is there a way to add custom menu items to solpart menu which are able to be linked with one page?

Make a new page, make it a child of your top level menu item, go into the page settings, Go advanced, go other, then tick URL under Link Type and you can type in any link you want. Presumably you'd be able to add variables there too?

Thanks very much Rob! This will certainly solve it but I am still thinking of a way in which I can programmatically generate these menu items without making additional pages/Tabs. Any idea?

Best Regards,

hmm. I'm sure you can do it, but you'll need to find someone who knows how pages are put together in the db. I'm just a hack in that regard.

Hard to say where to go find that person.. the forum structure here tends to work against this sort of query. If no one else can help here then perhaps try the DNN forum at asp.net. The unstructured nature of that forum provides a far more fruitful user experience (but don't tell the DNN police I said that). http://forums.asp.net/90/ShowForum.aspx

Good luck,
Rob

Sounds to me like this is more of a programming question then a skinning one.

This question would get a better audience in the Extend It! sub-forum.

That being said, I can't move it, so lets tackle it here.

Do you want them to be on the ActionMenu and get built dynamically?, or are they a static list of querystring paramters?

One shortcut, if you don't want to do any programming would be to put a simple drop-down  combo box on your page and have it automatically change the location.href parameter in javascript in the on change event.

Something like this :
