This one continues to bug me and I'm sure someone must have got it sussed out by now.

Whats the secret for making the top level Solpart menu items the same width in Firefox as they are in IE? They're always squashing up in FF, but generally look ok in IE. This is seen on loads of DNN sites and lots of commercial skins too.

Thanks for any assistance with this,
Rob

Oh and while I'm at it, I can't seem to make separator="xx" work in the Solpart settings.. I want to have a character inbetween the top level items... anyone?

Assuming it's an ascx file separator="xx" would give you what you want except if xx = are characters that need to be casted as Data like <![CDATA[ | ]]>

[EDITED]THis post should read:

Assuming it's an ascx file separator="xx" would give you what you want, except if xx = are characters that need to be casted as Data like <![CDATA[ | ]]> in the XML file <separator> attribute.

Could you post some links to examples of the "Solpart menu IE/FF gaps"?

Just about any DNN site has it.. even the one we're on here. The way it is made less obvious is to have large gaps between the menu items, however, if you look closely, you'll see that in Firefox the gaps are different from in IE.

Right now on the top of this page I can see that the gap between Home and About is much bigger in FF than in IE. This changes depending on what menu item is active. It's the first thign I ever noticed about DNN sites.

If you try and build a menu that is only to have a couple of spaces between items, it all becomes very difficult.. even so, I'm sure someone must have nutted it out by now. I'm pretty sure it just needs a specific combination of spaces and padding and margins on certain menu bits to make it work the same.

There are clues to it when you run your cursor over the menu to select it... you can see different rendering of spacing/padding/margins.

Thanks hooligannes, That confirms what I thought I'd understood by now... but for some reason it isn't working for me this time. I'll test it out on a different skin and see if I can get it happening.

Regards,
Rob
