Our host upgraded us to DNN 5.04.04 (trying to get them to bring us up to 5.4.1, which, according to the forums, is more stable and secure.  The problem is that our Module definitions do not work, so we can not upload fixes.  here is the error we are getting, and the event log.  Can anybody help us figure out what is wrong?  We are an all volunteer website committee and don't know squat.  Thanks!

Error: Module Definitions is currently unavailable.

It appears that the upgrade ran with errors or failed to complete.

From what version did you upgrade?

Please check the database upgrade logs located in your site folder \Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\ and which will have names like 05.00.00.log or in later versions like 05.00.00.log.resources. Look in particular for one or more errors relating to failure to drop/create a foreign key (FK) relationship on the Packages and PackageAssemblies table. I have seen that one cause a cascading series of errors leading to the issue you are reporting.

Have you checked with your hosting provider to see if they can restore the site files and database back to its pre-upgrade state. Hopefully they made backups!

We upgraded to 5.02.01 (54) recently and that's when things first went haywire.  Formerly (when it worked -sort of ) we were on 4.7.0.0.
