I found that I could do the Header/Footer method, but does that work if I want to use a vertical skyscraper Google ad on the right side of the content area?

If possible, I'd like to revisit this thread. I just did a new site, DNN 5.5.0 and the same problem is in this version as well. I am ONLY able to post Javascript content such as Google Adsense ads in the Module Settings/Header or Footer options, but these don't allow me to place the content where I want it. The content editor area removes the code once I hit "Update". Is there a setting that I need to adjust to make the 5+ versions accept Javascript in the Text/HTML Module?

 Thanks, Jeff...
