Hi All,

I am recently been thrown into a support position to support a DNN website that is running on version 04.04.01 and wanted some advice from the experienced people here about possible upgrade paths.

I have seen on some websites a limited list of security issues with this version but cannot find a website or document that details all of them. Does one exist? I will need some evidence to get the owner of the website to approve the upgrade.

Also from what I have read, my first upgrade should be to version 04.06.02. Once to this version, is it safe to stay there or should I upgrade from there to a newer version?

Any assistance or advice on this matter would be welcomed and happily received.

Aaron, upgrade to 4.6.2 and just afterwards to 4.9.5, which is a safe and very stable version atm. you may follow my upgrade checklist: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/AboutDotnetNuke/V3V4TippsTricks/Upgradedurchführen.aspx Note: the first upgrade only requires manual adoption of web.config

Aaron,

As an alternative you can use DnnAutoUpgrade module for automatic upgrade.
I recommend you next upgrade strategy by DNN versions: 4.6.2 - 4.9.5 - 5.4.4
