Cathal or Sebastian, would I be able to use token replacement in the html module for those as well. i.e [Portal:my_custom_token]?

Thanks,

no, AFAIK the token replace works against a defined list of portal settings and not the extensible one.

I came across this question and although old, it's still a top hit when looking for the info.
The suggested class, PortalSettings has been depreciated.

In DNN 7 the way to do this is to use the DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController class.
This class has 3 methods for getting settings:
GetPortalSetting() used for strings
GetPortalSettingAsBoolean()
GetPortalSettingAsInteger()

The function GetPortalSettingsAsDictionary() is also available.

There is a corresponding UpdatePortalSetting() method that can be used to set the values.

Cathal, mentioned above that "no, AFAIK the token replace works against a defined list of portal settings and not the extensible one."

This was very long ago.

I am looking for a way to create additional custom portal settings and also use them through tokens.

Has anything changed with DNN 7,8,9?
