Hi, I'm developing some custom modules from web user control (.ascx); I did the first succesfully, create the installer and it works perfect.

I created the second module from an .ascx too, but when I try to add the new module in the "Create Module Definition" tab I get the error: UNIQUE KEY 'IX_DesktopModules_ModuleName'

When I see en the DesktopModulesTable, in the ModuleName column I can see the first module created, but it has the folder's name; so I think DNN tries to give the same name to the second control.
So, how can this be accomplished? ¿the controls must be in different folders (I dont want this solution because I will use a lot of .ascx)? or, ¿how can I customize that name?

Thanks in advance

If you create a module with multible module definations you have to set the module defination name unique.  Each module defination want listed as a own module, so you could not use the same name for multible module definations.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The web user control has different names, but are in the same folder, which I think is causing the problem. Or, ¿Where can I set the module name?

Thanks!

Your manifest file which is ModuleName.dnn in your project have a section ModuleDefinations there have to add one for the ModuleName and one for the ModuleName2 with all the other settings.

If you want you can look to a Manifest file for DNN 5.x I created for my module on the source you could find on browse the source on http://dnnshoutcastStats.codeplex.com .  Please notice that the Manifest file for DNN 4.0 is different to the DNN 5 one, I would then suggest if it needed for DNN 4 to check the manifestfile from the blog module or other module with multible module definations.
