Hello DNN World!

My organisation has a database separate to the DNN database for the purpose of lodging and responding to tickets (just like a ticketing system obviously).

I need to connect to this database using ASP and web.config etc within DotNetNuke so that when people lodge a ticket, it goes into this database rather than somewhere in the DNN database.

To do this I need to use an ASP form - alas Visual Studio.

What is the best way to do this? Is it possible to use ASP.net in the Text/HTML module?? And also adding another DB connection in the web.config, although I imagine this shouldn't be too difficult?

Cheers,

PF.

I personally would use a third party module like Xmod that let's you create forms and report/lists that use and or update data in external databases.

If you already have ASP pages created on an existing server, you can load them within a Iframe module on any page.
