I just switched from WH4L to Arvixe.com, and when they updated the connection string in my web.config file, everything in my website was fine except for the events module on my website. I lost all entries in my calendar, and when I tried to reenter an event, I get an error that Edit Event is unavailable. The techs at Arvixe can't seem to figure out what's wrong, and I don't have the expertise. Can someone help me with fixing this error, I think by helping me find the connection string I need to change? Thanks.

Which version of Events are you using? Which version of DNN are you using?

DNN 4.08
Events 03.03.08

I know these are way out of date. If I can get this event module working again, then my next step will be to try to upgrade to a more current version of DNN and associated modules.

Thanks for any help you can give.

The connection string should be present in two places in web.config. Make sure they have updated it in both places.

Cheers

This is indeed old. The Events 03.03.08 was the version that motivated Roger en me to become (part of) the current Events project team, because is was so buggy... We have removed the need for a connection string to be in 2 places in the web.config somewhere around Events version 4.x
Be sure to make a back-up before you start upgrading.
