I've just posted up the latest version of the Url Master module.  This latest version of the popular Url Rewriting module for DotNetNuke is fully compatible with DotNetNuke 5.5.

What's in Url Master 2.01?
Coming so soon after the major 2.0 upgrade, there's just a couple of small bug fixes and enhancements in this release.  The main change in this version is compatibility with DotNetNuke 5.5, both in 'normal' and 'multi-language' mode.

Multi Language Features
DotNetNuke 5.5 introduces a page-specific multi-language feature, allowing you to translate pages as you go, and switch between languages with these settings.   Url Master 2.0 introduced several multi-language features, which include the ability to have language-specific domain names, plus language specific page names.  The latest release takes this further by automatically removing the /language/xx-XX part of the Url for multi-language Urls on the new 5.5 release, maintaining your ability to keep using the best friendly Urls for your DotNetNuke site, even when using the multi-language features.  One shortcoming of the multi-language features of 5.5 is that they force you back to using the old style, tabid/xx/ Urls.

Performance Testing
With the release of 5.5 much buzz has been made discussing the performance improvements made to the standard Friendly Url Provider.  As the Url Master module is a substitute Friendly Url Provider, I've done some testing to compare between 5.4 and 5.5, and between the standard Friendly Url Provider and the Url Master module.

It's all in my latest blog post : Performance Testing DotNetNuke 5.5 and Url Master

Update your Url Master installation
If you've got an existing install of Url Master, please upgrade your Url Master module before upgrading to DotNetNuke 5.5.

You can download the installation package here on the Url Master Module Download page

If you're using Url Master 2.0 (released in July) then you'll need 2.01
If you're using Url Master 1.15 or earlier, you'll need version 1.16 - or, consider upgrading to the 2.01 version to access better performance, more features and easier-to-use features.

If you've never used the module - why not download a free trial and give it a go?

What if you did the DNN 5.5 upgrade and did not realize it was a problem until now. Is there a way to do the UM upgrade? I tried on one install and it didn't work. I couldn't access any pages and had to restore from backups.

Cliff - it shouldn't matter if you do the 5.5 upgrade first.   Most of the updates are focused around the installation/new portal procedures rather than the actual running of the module.  You should definitely not have any problems upgrading that would cause issues like that, although I do recommend updating the 'triggerDictionaryRebuildRegex' value, as outlined in this post : http://www.ifinity.com.au/Products/Su...
