Yes it is possible.  DNN is a Portal Framework that supports parent and child portals.  So each portal can also have it own domain, if you bind it on the IIS to the DNN site, and have it on the DNS.  Also DNN have for Each portal a own User and Role Management.

Is it on hosting?  If yes ther can be some restriction beacuse the hosting application environment, so it is need to know what it is.

Is it for local install there are difference due to the OS and the IIS for the permission settings for the files and folders that you must extract.

The requements are:

Installed MS-SQL Server 2005 or above, Express or higher
Installed .NET framework 2.0 or/and above
Create a folder for the DNN
Add a website or virtualDirectory(localhost) and asign it to a application pool (or create a own) and assign it to the DNN folder
Extract DNN to the folder
Set permissions for the annonymous user with read permission
Add full permissions for the application pool user

Open website run the install wizzard and add your database settings.  Following the instructions.

There are a quickstart guide and install documentation availible from this site as free.
