I'm having difficulty adding AddThis buttons to my text.

I succeed in getting one working to Share | Facebook | Twitter

 https://iqmh.org/Development/KnowledgeCentreNew/tabid/244/Default.aspx

My Problem:

The editor in the Community 4.0 edition of DNN. It rewrites and moves javascript around and deletes code. ( We can't upgrade at this time as we have a DNN Store as well. )  Any suggestions?  They have to be in tabs as well.

Can anyone recommend a better way of editing the code? I've tried FrontPage, Dreamweaver and I can only use EditPad Pro.

Here's an example of the code:

<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};</script>
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style">
<a class="addthis_button_compact">Share</a>
<span class="addthis_separator">|</span>
<a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
</div>
<!-- AddThis Button END -->

Add this once per page

<script type="text/javascript">
var addthis_config = {
  username: "iqmh",
  ui_cobrand: "IQMH"
}
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"

Or if you know of a Tab module with social sharing, bring it on! :)

Try putting the script tags into the header code field in the page settings. Then place only the div bits in the editor.

There are several bookmarking modules on Snowcovered as well if you want something ready-made. There are also modules purpose-made for injecting forms and scripts that you get from around the web. DNNStuff do one, and Gumbosoft's is also good, but the developer seems to have vanished.

I also struggled with getting AddThis to work. Never did get it to work using just the HTML module.   I found two options to help:

1)  Puchase a membership to www.dnnstuff.com.  They have a Inject anything module that works great with AddThis and other scripts.
2)  Use the free SharePost module on snowcovered.  SharePost is a competitor to AddThis and seems to have the same functionality.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
