how to solve the problem on  dotnetnuke error  display this error on after launching the dotnetnuke community edition on the URL- http://localhost/dotnetnuke/Default.aspx?tabid=40&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0 displays this on the red cross symbol that an error has occured.

The error message is to general. Does your skin have a Content pane?

You need to retrieve the full error message from the event viewer within the DNN application and post it here.
Log in as HOST
Go to Admin then select "Event Viewer"
You would be looking for an Exception which are color coded in red.
Copy and paste the text for the complete exception message including the heading and post it to this thread.
If you cannot even log into the site then you'll need to find the Exception in the EventLog table of your database.
