this really sounds strange. anything special in your system configuration (web farm, proxy, ...) ?

Thanks for you help... Nothing special about my configuration at all. Standard shared hosting at powerDNN, not special auth providers. Nothing ..

Here is what I would do in that strange case (Just an idea). Buy User Import Export module from http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=15698 Export all users and see what you have there as passwords (It exports explicit passwords)
