Hi,

We have a client that is on the standard version of DNN…how hard is it to upgrade them to the Enterprise version?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Doru Pirvu

Upgrading between CE->PE->EE is pretty straight forward. If you do it at the same time you do a version Upgrade you do it the same as you would a normal upgrade, of course you use the appropriate product/upgrade package when doing so.

If you are already on 5.5 CE and want to go to 5.5 EE you would use the Enterprise Upgrade package, extract it, then hit www.domainname.com/install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade

Thanks Chris for your help!

That client is using DNN Standard Edition - 5.1.2

I have 2 more questions.

1. Can I upgrade to EE 5.1.2?
2. Should I buy both PE 5.1.2 and EE 5.1.2?

Thank you!

Enterprise is only available starting with DNN 5.5, so you will have to upgrade to 5.5 to use those features.

I doubt you'll need both Pro and Enterprise, unless of course you want to run another project on PE.

Thanks Chris for your help and for so quickly reply!

I understand that I have to upgrade DNN CE 5.1.2 to DNN CE 5.5. Then I have to upgrade from CE 5.5 to EE 5.5.

1. Could you detail me how to upgrade from CE 5.1.2 to CE 5.5?
2. In order to upgrade from CE 5.5 to EE 5.5 should I extract Enterprise Upgrade over the website CE 5.5 and then hit www.domainname.com/install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade?

Thank you,
