  I'm trying to create a Master-Detail relationship in DNN but it doesn't work!! I have two entities: Order (Master) , Order Line (Detail). I have created all the necessary business logic & presentation forms as follows:
(a) OrderInfo,OrderController,OrderList,OrderEdit for the Master Entity
(b) OrderLineInfo,OrderLineController for the Detail Entity.
In order to implement the Master-Detail relationship I do the following trick. On the OrderEdit form where a user can modify an Order record, I add a GridView control which is linked to an ObjectDataSource control. This ObjectDataSource control is attached to the OrderLineInfo object (detailed entry). For the ObjectDataSource to find the correct records, I make use of the Selecting event where the primary key of the related Order record is passed since it is stored in the QueryString of the 'Edit' form.
My problem with this approach is that the GridView control on the OrderEdit form is read-only!!! The buttons 'Edit' or 'Delete' of the GridView do not respond for the GridView Lines! What is wrong with the behaviour of this control? Is there another approach regarding the implementation of a Master/Detail relation in the DNN environment?
