I don't know when that is planned, but you can always compile those projects yourself to target .net 4.0. An important aspect of DNN is trying to provide backwards compatibility and compatibility for large number of users. We only implemented a 3.5sp1 requirement with the DNN 5.2 releases, which happened I believe in November of 2009

Unfortunatly DNN 5.5.01 .NET 4.0 compilation fails, due to braking changes in .NET 4.0. Can you fix it please, with possible conditional compilation.
I'd like to use Silverlight 4.0 Business Applications (aka WCF RIA Services).

'OutputCachingProvider' is not a member of 'System.Web.Caching.OutputCache'. C:\Projects\DNN5501\Library\Common\Utilities\DataCache.vb 276 17 DotNetNuke.Library
