Still curious about whether I will be able to upgrade directly from DNN 7.1.2 to the latest version. Any insight into that?

OK, I successfully upgraded DNN from 7.1.2 to 8.0.3 (on a test server /  database of course!!) . However, the skins aren't loading and modules aren't showing up.

Most importantly, I can't login. Any way I try to show the login screen, I get a message that says a module didn't load.

Any idea what I can do about this?

Thanks!

Incredibly frustrated.

I havent had much time to look into this since I first started posting about it, but now back.

So trying to get to latest version of DNN.  Client currently on 7.0.6.  Tried to go to latest and got redirect loop problem. Looked into multiple possible issues with data in the database. HttpAlias column in PortalAlias, DefaultPortalAlias in PortalSettings, making sure home page is Default.aspx.  Never could get to work.

So said how about getting to 7.4 first.  Same issues, same tries. Then I looked into the logs and I see that an exception occurs when the code tries to call a Stored Procedure. [dbo].GetPortalAliases and this stored procedure doesnt seem to exist in DNN. Why would the install/upgrade process be using a StoredProcedure that doesnt exist. Where did it go? Where can I get a script for this?  Or is it another problem.  I cant seem to figure out what is the issue with upgrading this site.

Well after finding nothing on this I tried upgrading step by step. Dont know why no one mentions this. Now I have successfully upgraded to 7.4.2.

I'm trying to find any documentation related to the DNN9 upgrade path or process.

The page the OP of this thread points to seems out dated.

The suggested upgrade path seems to have been abandoned for updates which was always an immensely helpful list to ensure success. It doesn't include anything after DNN 7.3 and nothing 8 let alone 9 related.

The readme.txt that ships with DNN9 points you to the DNN7 release notes...
