The site is the 5.4.4 and the forum module is the one that can be download from here on DNN, the question is this;
 Is there a setting that will cause the threads in the forums to go to the first post that has NOT been read by the logged in user?

AFAIK there is no such switch, sorry.

Thanks for the info. I did however learn, actually earlier today that if you go to the thread that you want to read, before opening the thread, click on the date and time of the last post and it will do what I have been trying to achieve.  I do believe that we can call this thread "Resolved"!

To be clear for anyone coming across this later. Clicking the date of the post (in last post column) will take you to the last post. Clicking an icon next to it (if available, only shows when you have unread posts) will take you to the first unread post.
