I just upgraded from 4.5 to 5.5. What an ordeal... I first had to fix issues with Events, Telrik, Web.Config and now I find the new built-in Google Analytics feature appears to cause javascript errors.

Well, with more research it's not really the fault of DNN developers. It appears Google has changed the content of thier .js file and is causing an issue with the IE parser. Some think its due in part due to the document.write which is designed to correctly determine if the page is in secure mode so that you don't get that ugly mixed mode error message from the browser when loading the web page.

In any case, the specific web site I'm working on, does not use SSL so I simply called the Google Analytics .JS file directly with a <script> tag. I think we can do this better either by generating better javascript code or by determining the secure mode at the server side. It would also be nice of this new feature prompted showed you what the default javascript would look and give you an option to over ride via template concept plus allowing script changes using the token engine. At this point I simply added it to Default.aspx to get it working at this point.
