I installed DotNetNuke community edition and I extracted it in C:\inetpub\wwwroot folder. Then I added an application in IIS manager.

I tried to open http:\\localhost\DotNetNuke and it  works fine.

What I need to know is :

How  can I modify this website in visual studio 2008?

I also downloaded some modules and I placed them in C:\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual C#, but I couldn't found them in the templates when I first create a web.

I chose file-  new - website .Then I changed the language to visual basic.

However, when I installed "Christoc.com_C__Compiled_Module" provided in the training session, It appeared in the template section but when I built it,  I got an error that the namespace "DotnetNuke  " could not be found.

Any suggestions??

call your web site locally using http://localhost. edit all content using your browser, use Extensions in Host menu to install modules from the browser. Templates are used for develoing new modules only.

What if I want to add new features that are not available in the extensions. Can I great a web using C# in visual studio and then import it in the website?

I tried to open  DotNetNuke locally, but it shows me at the home page the word "Sponsors" and when I click login it does not show the text boxes to enter my user name and password. It was working a while ago. What is the problem?

What if 3 people should design the website, is there a way to share it?

if you want to share a web site, put it on a web server or make your local server accessible in your lan (using machine name or a site alias in local name server). To install additional packaged extensions, use "extension installation wizard" from the action menu and locate your install package (.zip) locally for upload and installation.
