Software Requirements are:  Visual Studio 2008/2010 Prof. or higher, MS SQL Server 2005/2008R2 Express, installed .NET Framework 3.5 or higher, DotNetNuke install or source package.  Please checkout if you need features of the dotnetnuke professional edition or if the community is enough for your need (a later upgrade is possible).

Please check Support/Documentation for any help resources.

To run a web site, add and edit content, you just need Windows hosting (Windows Server 2003 or later) with Asp.net 3.5 SP1 or 4.0 and MS SQL database (2005 or later, Express is fine for most sites). If you want to develop modules or other extensions, a local devenv would require Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 (VWD is fine), you may use Microsoft Web platform installer (www.microsoft.com/web) to set it up.
