I'm attempting to install a backup copy of my hosted DNN site on my local system.  I've successfully restored the database to a local instance of SQL Server 2008, have downloaded the site files from my provider, edited the web.config and set up IIS.

I keep getting this message:and I've double checked my connection string several times.  Obviously it's wrong but this message doesn't give me a clue.  Is there any log file I can look at to help me investigate further.  I know I'm missing something simple but am drawing a blank.

Installing DotNetNuke

Upgrade Error: ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Here's my connection string with the pw intentionally obfuscated here.

<add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=AMSIA-PRIMARY\;database=biusa09102010;uid=Al;pwd=xxxxx;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

Thanks

Following the restore of the database, you may be running into the "orphaned users" problem. This MS KB article gives some background and suggested fixes:

Thanks Bill.

I checked.  That's an interesting issue but it's not my problem.

Al,

Is the Data Source correct in the  connection string? ... I noticed the backslash ( "\")  which seems odd to me.
