AFAIK VSTO is free, but will require Office to be installed on the server (unless you want to install the conversion application on the downloading user's client computer), which needs to be licensed.

I have been looking at other tools and possible DNN modules to do the conversion and several of them I have been looking at come back to the same thing: They do not all work using a DNN Url and require you have the source file on the hard drive somewhere so I get back to my original question: How do I get a document from the DNN repository and store it on my local system? Unless I can find a DNN module that converts files based on the Url I am going to have to convert files directly. Thanks,

you will need a custom module incorporating the conversion, I can't think of another solution.

Thanks for the information. Maybe I misunderstood one of your earlier posts on this.

To make sure I understand, are you saying there is no API or database query that I can use to extract the documents from the repository?
I have found a lot of tools to do conversions assuming you have file source file already.
