uploading any file containing code or being converted to code bears a risk and should be verified by the system administrator (host). Any access to the production site bears an extra risk. I am aware of the inconvenience, but I strongly suggest setting up a demo install for skinners, who may tweak their design until it meets the site owner's needs, package it and hand it over to the system administrator for installation on the production site.

Hi Sebastian! Thanks for your reply! And thank for the suggestion! But I think it's so impossible or better is so difficult.

First of all the SCHENARIO: - one client desire to change the skin and buy a commercial skin and install it.
I know that is a very interesting features for buy a product! and choose a system or another one.
What i need is to permit to one of my client to buy a skin and try it! In this situation is pretty similar to permit uploading skin in a demo site or in the client site! (if they are on the same server)

I know that the script in the skin are extremely potentially dangerous, but i know my client, and I know that when they have tried one or two skins I can to remove this features!
My idea, like the modified code in the old threads, is to use the same functionality thet the host use, but the problem is that the skin is installed in the
/Portals/_default/Skins
and not in the
/Portals/_default/0

Can you help me how can I change it?

Or the best alternative is that in the future this feature can be enable or disable in the host setting
Something like: - Enable admin to upload skins (default false)

thanks a lot for your work!
Rmartin

Rino, it is the same subject with all extensions - Skins in DNN 5 may include Skin Objects (code), Code Libraries (.dll files) etc. If clients need to install it, they should get their own DNN installation without affection other sites. Imagine one client downloads a free skin with a trojan in it? If installed, the skinner may get Host access and access/modify/delete all portals - just with 2 lines of code. You won't even be able to blame the customer, who installed it, because he had no idea about it.
