Hi,

i created a manifest file for my module (version 5) and packed it. I tried installing the module and it seems that there didn't occure an error, but when i try to add this module to a page, it doesn't do anything. Through debugging i found out, that there had to be an entry in the ModuleDefinition-table to add a module properly. But the installation wizard doesn't add a record. So my question is, what is wrong with this manifest.

<component type = "Module">
                    <desktopModule>
                        <moduleName>abc</moduleName>
                        <folderName>abc</folderName>
                        <businessControllerClass />
                        <supportedFeatures />
                        <moduleDefinitions>
                            <moduleDefinition>
                                <friendlyName>abcdef</friendlyName>
                                <defaultCacheTime>
                                    0
                                </defaultCacheTime>
                                <moduleControls>
                                    <moduleControl>
                                        <controlKey />
                                        <controlSrc>DesktopModules/Admin/abc/abc.ascx</controlSrc>
                                        <iconFile />
                                        <helpUrl />
                                        <supportsPartialRendering>False</supportsPartialRendering>
                                        <controlTitle />
                                        <controlType>View</controlType>
                                    </moduleControl>
                                </moduleControls>
                            </moduleDefinition>
                        </moduleDefinitions>
                    </desktopModule>
                </component>

You want to make sure that you have component in there to actually copy the files as well.

ok, i found the problem. When the package is installed the a desktopModuleInfo-object will be created by deserializing the manifest-file. This deserialization failed because instead of "foldername" i wrote "folderName". This breaks the whole installation without creating any error. Maybe this shouldn't be case sensitive.
