None of those really look like the issue i'm experiencing (though they are probably all related to my issue). I really hope this is fixed soon as this is quite an annoying bug and display modules on all pages is something that is heavily used when building a website.

And it appears this wasn't fixed in 5.6. We are still experiencing the same issue with displaying modules on all pages. Same issue with hanging after modifying a module (such as adding a link to Links) that was displayed on all pages. Even removing display on all pages setting still seems to be broke.

I've done a number of training sessions on 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 using the links module and display on all pages without any problems what so ever. Not sure what is causing your issue

Just curious, how many tabs/pages do you have on your site?
There is a known performance issue that will be fixed in 5.6.1 regarding updating a module across "all pages" where there are thousands of pages within a site.
