Guess maybe I didn't word my previous post correctly. I don't have a problem with PowerDNN or their servers- I've been with them for many years now. My point, in the first part of my previous post, was that I was surprised that Cliff was getting such low numbers with that good of a server.

The other issue is that there are so many variable's, as Tony points out, with regards to how much server a certain type of site is going to require. This is why I have always thought that a forum (sub forum to the performance forum?) where community members could share the type of site they have, the amount of traffic they have, and the type of hosting resources they have would be a great idea. This would provide a resource to help answer the "how much server would x type of site require" questions that almost everyone has at some point or another.

We're working on a short video to explain hosting resources, how they vary depending on the type of website and presenting how cloud hosting can enable lower costs and greater flexibility by dynamically adjusting hosting resources. It will be presented in our blog: http://blog.premiumdnn.com

If anyone needs, we have an on-demand lab for load testing in the cloud, with 1 web server, 1 sql server, and 1 stress agent. Each server can be scaled from 1GB RAM to 16GB RAM and 1 x 2GHz to 16 x 2GHz. It's already configured with Visual Studio Agents and settings required to access performance counters. Contact us if you are interested in using it or us running tests on your website for you.

Suggestion from experience: Every developer can make a simple form in about 30 minutes of work that will provide you the opportunity to work with thousands of users simultaneously. DNN is not the way for multi user system. * i work with DNN but when i need a real "multi user" system i am developing it from sketch. i developed a dynamic questionnaire system (checked by the client already) was prepared for government project designed for use by all students in the country and was intended to work with more than 3000 students who enter the answer to the questionnaire at the same time. if you want i can give you the link in private message (mail).
