Hi,

The Logout code in the file  admin\Skins\Login.ascx.vb, cmd_Login click event is not working as expected.

If Request.IsAuthenticated = True Then
          Response.Redirect(NavigateURL(PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabID, "Logoff"), True)

Its throwing an exception and the subsequent events/methods are getting called and executed which is not desired.

On click of Logout, I want the control to redirect to the default page and exit the application.

Can you please tell me a work around to this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the Redirect After Login value set on the User Settings? also, I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading off of 4.8, there are a large number of bugs, and security issues that have been addressed.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the Redirect code is called after the User preferences.

My problem is that, I see a 7MB memory growth after the user clicks on Logout. So i started to debug and found out that the Response.Redirect was not working.

Tried to apply the fix mentioned here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/226641/scope/posts/threadpage/2/Default.aspx

But even that didnt help. I want the execution to stop and response to end as soon as the Response.Redirect line is encountered.

Thanks again for your suggestion to upgrade but that'll involve lots of approvals and time.

So, Is there anything that can be done to achieve the simple Logout functionality.
