First, accept my apologies if I have posted this in the wrong forum.  I have a question regarding installation of the forum module v. 4.5.3.  1)  Prior to being put into use on my site, the ASP.Net version in IIS was 2.0.xxxx.  By the way my DNN version is 5.5.0 (653) and prior to the forum being set up my .NET framework was 3.5.  It appears that after the forum module was installed or placed into use, my IIS settings needed to be changed for ASP.Net to version 4.0.xxxx and my .NET framework was changed to 4.0.  Does this module require the IIS ASP.Net setting to be changed to 4.0.xxxx?  2)  Is there a way to determine the date the forum module was installed and when it was put into use.  I think the forum module may have been installed with the original installation but it wasn't being used until recently.

Just for some clarification, I have an instance running on a separate machine that is configured exactly as my production website was before the forum being put into use.  It has the same version of DNN, the .NET framework is 3.5, and the IIS ASP.Ner setting is 2.0.xxxx.  There isn't even an option in IIS to select ASP.net version 4.0.xxxx.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

I moved your thread to correct forum.

The Forum 04.05.03 need min. 4.8.1 and ASP.NET 2.0 or higher.  So .NET 4.0 is not recommanded.
You caould set a public date of the page or of the module on Page settings or Module settings.
The Forum Module is not automaticly installed with DNN, you can install it as a "Availible Extension" over Host / Extension.

Before you can set ASP.NET 4.0 on your IIS you have to install the .NET Framework 4.0 you can download from the Microsoft.com site.  It is different how to set it on IIS 6 and IIS 7, On IIS 6 you could select the .NET version on the page Settings and on IIS7.x you have to set the .NET version on the Application pool.

Thank you for your response.  However, I am now more confused because after the forum module was put into use the .net framework changed to 4.0.  I did not put the forum into use personally, that was done by someone else.  However, after it was done, the site did not work until after I went into IIS 6 and changed the asp.net version to 4.0.30319.  This OS is windows 2003 server standard.

The first is that the Forum Module could not change the .NET Version at all!

If you want set back the .NET version from 4.0 to 3.5 you have also modify the web.config file manualy from some .NET 4.0 artifacts (i.e on the HTTPHandler).  (Plase always make a copy of your web.config file if you done some changes or upgrades and backup your database.
