1. Click on "register"
2. Enter in new user information
3. An error has occurred. Error: User Registration is currently unavailable.

This is very frustrating. I've read many posts and I'm even more confused now. Is there someone who can help me fix this issue quickly? I'm in a production deadline and little errors like this are very frustrating.

I also noticed on another one of my sites that when clicking on "Register" it just refreshes to the home page...  Another annoying bug.

Thank you,

Patrick

On the site which is redirecting to the home page when one clicks the Register link:

1. When logged in as admin user, navigate to Admin-->Site Settings
2. Open the Advanced Settings section
3. Find the Registration drop-down list and make sure that it is set to

On the site which is showing the error after entering registration information, in addition to checking to see if the user was actually registered, please check the Event Viewer and post any related error here in the forum. I also suspect as did Sebastian that the error is related to being unable to send the notification email.

[EDITED: I didn't see your other post in this forum which included the post of the error from the Event Viewer. As suspected it is due to a failure to successfully send the registration notification email. As Matthias indicated in his reply to that post, be sure that the Host Settings for SMTP mail server are correctly set. Most shared hosting providers require basic authentication and block email relay. Thus, the email address of the portal admin should be in the same domain as the SMTP mail server account configured in Host Settings.

Yes, it did create the user.. but didn't stay logged in right after registration.. had to clear the page, login with the new user credentials, and everything is fine. I even got a new user confirmation in my email... so I know it's capable of emailing.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
