Hello, I would like to display a page in my menu and when the user clicks on the page, tell them they either need to login or register for the site before they can view the content on the page. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

The only way is to disable the permissions for the roles (All users, unregistered , subscript) on your page settings .  The user get then the login page, where he also could register. It is also possible to add HTML/Text module with the text you like and set there on your module settings the permissions only for unregistered users.
