We have just moved web servers and I have copied everything across, changed database names and everything loads OK. However no users can login.

When logging in I get 'Login Failed. Please remember that passwords are case sensitive'.
On password retriveal I get 'There was an error retrieving your password. No password was sent.'

What do I need to do to resolve this? Thanks.

Did you by chance change your MACHINEKEYS in the web.config file? Do you have the web.config file from the original server that you can compare to the web.config file on the new server?

if the web site failed to access database during transition, the machinekeys may have been altered. please follow chris' advice and reget it from previously use web.config file.

Many thanks for your help and it is now resolved

Lucky I copied over the a previous version as well, as I had just upgraded from 5 to 5.5, and the old machine key was in there.

Is there any way of stopping this from happening for future reference (aparty from have the correct connection string of course!). I image getting the configuration wrong is not an uncommon thing and this causes the machine key to be overwritten, not too good.
