Hi All,

I have recently found myself tasked with a project that I am hoping a CMS system like DotNetNuke might be able to help me with.  I am hoping that some helpful member(s) of the community might be able to tell me if DotNetNuke can handle my requirements.

Requirements:
1:  I must be able to create users that have the ability to move elements(text/images/etc) around the page but not be able to effect the overall page layout.  For example, some pages may have a standard navigation bar on the left and a site logo on the top.  I don't want the users to be able to touch those items.
2:  I want to have some pages be required and some pages to not be required.  I don't want the user to be able to delete not-required pages.  I would like them to be able to turn them on or off at will.  Turning off the page would remove it from any navigation menu it was a part of.
3.  If I create a template of webpages(home page, about us page, contact us page...etc) that I want x number of websites to use...is there a way to just hit a button and create x number of websites?
4.  I would like each of the x number of websites to pull their images/data from a database of data I already have.  For Example:  I have 20 rows in a database called "webpage_aboutus".  I would like to create 20 websites with a website template I define...and have each website point at the data in my database(I imagine this will involve custom coding...)

Am I looking in the right place for this type of functionality?

Thanks so much for reading this.  Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi AFrize, welcome in the DNN community. Most of your requirements can be achieved easily, e.g. by using Advanced Permission Provider from www.oliverhine.com. it will provide you with more granular page and module permissions, allowing you to achieve 1. and 2 of your list. Regarding 3, you may create a portal template in Host :: portals with most details and apply it easily on each new site creation, however you need to use absolute paths for images to re-use them from the initial site. Sharing data between sites is not supported out of the box, you will need to modify/create modules for your own purpose.

Cheers from Germany,
