I tried everything, but only worked later uninstall/reinstall.

What matters is that the new version is working perfectly.

 I just tried this. Too bad it didn't help. I'm glad it works for you though. And thank you for sharing the experience, it may be useful for someone else in the same circumstance.

I had the problem with 2 skins. The first one is an old tweak of the DNN Blue skin. I've just tried a page with DNN Grey skin (never been tweaked) and the same problem occurs.

The other skin, I am still testing, I will report back here.

Thanks Marc. DNN Blue is a really old HTML4 skin, but I will test latest beta with it before we release an update.

The second skin is an in-house creation by a designer who stopped after 1 month in the beginning of this month because the university did not want to pay him more than $100/month.

I had shown him minimal extrophy as example and he tweaked a few things thereof, css/menu.css for example. I have gone through his css files, but I can see nothing that could offend IE8.

I did like his work, and his friends who finished in the same class now make as trainees $250/month elsewhere.
