I'm using DotNetNuke version 5.04.04 and blog module version 4.0.0.

Somehow I think I have confused the blog to the point where it thinks it should be on one page, but is really on another. Since messing things up I've learned more about how the blog is structured.

  • I created a blog on page A, which is intended to be the main blog page.
  • I wanted to use the recent entries module on another page, so added the blog to page B and deleted everything but recent entries. That worked fine.
  • I then did the same procedure to page C, adding the blog then deleting all but the recent entries.
  • After that point, urls that pointed to page A got redirected to page C.
  • Regenerating permalinks made all the links point to page C.
To fix the problem I've tried all manner of things. The most complete was deleting ALL blog modules on the site, emptying recycle bin, then adding the blog back to a single page. That fixed my redirection problem, but regenerating the permalinks still resulted in urls going to page C.

Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? I can manipulate the database tables if necessary.

Also, is there some other method I should be using if I want to display the recent blog entries on a non-blog page?

Eric, I had this same problem and worked on several different possibilities. I was finally able to get the links redirect correctly after I deleted all the permalink entries in the Blog_Entries table of my database. Then I simply reset the permalinks in Blog Settings and it worked!
