I have a site that I'd like to move to a CMS, however I am trying to figure out which one to use. It is a grant project that has videos of children, which are only accessible from behind a passworded site.

One of the key things I need to solve is the following:

I'd like to use something that can return a stats in the format similar to google analytics, but tied to the dotnetnuke usernames. Time spent on the website would be pretty handy as well.

You can certainly have all content on a DNN site password protected. Have you looked at the basic reporting capabilities build into DNN?
