I've read a number of threads on the javascript frameworks issue and the clientAPI conflict with the $ function and .extend.  Has anyone at DotNetNuke core team resolved this?  I realize there is an issue w/previous version compatibility, but since the future of javascript is so open-ended, it seems like a smart thing to remove the .extend and $ dependency in the clientAPI, and not expect all module developers to work around (and it seems, abandon the frameworks!), because of this simple task.

If someone on the core team could let those of us that use a framework like mootools, or prototype.js--two very popular frameworks, a way of using dotnetnuke and these frameworks together.

You can use jQuery instead $. Then no more conflicts. I know its more longer to write, but more stable.
