Hello,

I've been trying to upgrade a 4.9.0 DNN site to the latest version.  I followed the "Upgrade using App_offline.htm to disable" instructions on the upgrade wiki (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Wiki/tabid/1409/Page/Upgrading-DotNetNuke/Default.aspx) and I've hit a few snags.  First I saw an error in the chat module:

Line 308:            Try
Line 309:                Dim ctx As Web.HttpContext = Web.HttpContext.Current
Line 310:                Dim lvstrImageRoot As String = String.Empty
Line 311:                oCache = ctx.Cache.Get(key)

But I fixed that by changing the line to: Dim ctx As System.Web.HttpContext = System.Web.HttpContext.Current

The next error I got though, stumped me.
"The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalDefaultLanguage' doesn't exist."

I couldn't find a way around this one.  I thought the upgrade would create and update any stored procedures it saw fit, but before the upgrade was even started, I was getting errors like this.  Has anyone run into this one before?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin, did you see any issue reported during the upgrade? StoredProcedure upgrades are contained in upgrade scripts and issues are usually listed in the upgrade report. check /providers/dataproviders/sqldataprovider for non-empty log files.

Sebastian,

The upgrade wasn't even able to start (I don't think).  This was the error I got when I tried to load the http://MYWEBSITE/install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade page.  I checked all the logs and they are empty.

Thanks,

Kevin

in this case you should restore latest backup prior to the upgrade, check all permissions and retry.

Sebastian,

I have already tried to upgrade several times, (each time restoring my backup) and each time this was the error. My first instinct was the permissions, but they seem fine, and I've reset them just to make sure.
