Make sure the IIS site has the correct host headers.

IIS 6:

http://www.visualwin.com/host-header/

IIS 7:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753195(WS.10).aspx

Thank you,

Thank you, Matthias. I do have the appropriate DNS entries set up (www3.company.com hits the right server, across the Internet).

However, I don't follow what you mean by "you have to add the new domain to the used URL for your DNN instance". Can you clarify what you mean by the "used URL" comment and where I can configure this?

Thanks again.

Thanks. Yes, I have that. To recap, here's what I have set up right now...

  • I have two parent portals set up.
    • The original portal when I installed DNN, which is localhost/dotnetnuke
    • A new portal with the portal alias www3.company.com
  • I have created a host header for www3.company.com (all unassigned IP addresses)
  • DNS points www3.wednet.com to the server (resolves to the right physical server)

The current results are:

So, still pretty confused. :-(

On your IIS you have "bindings" where you have to add all domains that you want to use with your DNN instance.  You would finde more informations about administration of IIS on www.iis.net .

Yep, have those in place (that's what I meant when I mentioned that I had configured the host headers - sorry if I wasn't more clear).

Thanks.
