Hi,
I'm new to DNN, and I have got most of what I need working fine, except that visitors cannot download pdf files from my site.

I've uploaded pdf files to a folder on the site, and set the link to the pdffile onthe page.

When I am logged in as administrator, I can download the files O.K. but when visitors click on the download link, they get the message:
You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File

Can anyone suggest what needs to needs to be changed, and where I change it.

Thanks

Tony Ingold

You have to set the permissions on the folder you are uploading your files to.  Go to the File manager and click on the folder then at the bottom of the screen select which roles can read the files in that folder.

I am assuming that the pdf files have been uploaded to either the portal home directory (Portals/<PortalID#>/) or to a child folder of the home directory. When logged in as admin user, navigate to Admin-->FileManager. Make sure that in the permissions grid for the folder containing the pdf files "All Users" have been given permissions (green checkmarks) to "Open Files In Folder" and "Browse Files in Folder". Those should be the default permissions but they might have gotten unchecked or explicitely denied.
