After re-reading your first post a couple of questions:
Did you install as Typical or Custom?
If Custom what additional modules or providers did you install?

Do you have direct access to the database?
If you do then please open a SQL Query and run one of the following queries:

If you did not add an Object Qualifier to the db tables:

SELECT LogTypeKey, LogProperties FROM dbo.EventLog Where LogTypeKey LIKE '%EXCEPTION%'

If you did add an Object Qualifier:

SELECT LogTypeKey, LogProperties FROM dbo. _EventLog Where LogTypeKey LIKE '%EXCEPTION%'

Thx!

I was hoping you would get a General Exception returned.
Since you had nothing logged in the Event Viewer or EventLog table in the database it really is hard to say what happened.

Rather than spend a lot of time trying to fix whatever issue this might be I would highly recommend you delete the web directory and the database and re-install.
Make sure you do not have any other browsers open during the installation and when the install has completed click the "Start building your Site" link and open it in the same browser.

Found the error in the dbo.EventLog table of the database. Turns out I was missing a Skin file.
